Every Saturday 08:30
Rockets Riders Club
Rockets Riders Club is our homegrown riding community, it's kind of a cycling club but without the committee and requirement to volunteer at time trials on a wet Sunday morning. Mostly it revolves around riding bikes and drinking coffee.
Our rides are every Saturday at 08:30, through the summer we also have a Wednesday evening ride. All rides start, and usually finish, at Rockets & Rascals.
Most Saturdays we have three rides:
The Rockets which tend to ride 2.5 - 3 hours at an average of around 15-16mph routes posted on our what's on page.
The Rascal Ride ride is a little less energetic, typically averaging 12-13mph and riding for 2 hours.
The Rock Zombie Ride - this is an off road ride, cross bikes if you're brave but probably a mountain bike of some kind. 2-3 hours also a mix of local trails.
We also have a quarterly social night, these are a chance for the group to get together away from the lycra.
All members of the RRC are regulars at Rockets & Rascals.
Membership is £20 per year (runs 1st Jan - 31st December)
This gets you:
A gold loyalty card at RnR (this gets you 20% off RnR merchandise, half price coffee on weekdays and discounted event entries)
Free coffee on ride days (yes we have free filter coffee for members pre-ride. This is on a first come first served basis).
An organised ride each week and hopefully some new friends and some fun!
RRC is Registered with British Cycling and Cycling UK
A couple of T's & C's
By joining you're agreeing to some basic stuff like not riding like a fool, being polite and really doing your best by the club.
You're also agreeing that we can use your beautiful face in any photos whether on our instagram or Facebook page, or perhaps on our website. If you're not into this that's fine, just step aside when the photos are taken.
Finally, and probably most importantly, you're accepting that riding with a club can present some low levels of danger through either technical riding or physical exertion, you're comfortable with that and won't be trying to extend your capabilities on club rides. This point is not to indemnify ourselves but simply to make you consider your own actions.
